Post Travel Skin Care Routine

This content has been archived. It may no longer be relevant

My skin has been the worst since I’ve gotten back from my trip. In fact, it was pretty bad during my trip. I mean I did travel to three different provinces within Spain, so that’s three very different climates. It was as if I was a hormonal teenager all over again. My skin went from oily to dry back to oily in just a week.

The funny thing is that I brought sheet masks with me, but every time I had a little bit of downtime from being all touristy…I was entirely too lazy to put on a mask. Even when I returned, I was still way too lazy (and tired) to put on a measly little sheet mask. So yesterday, (I got back last Thursday) I finally decided to do my full skincare routine – mask included.

By that point, I had to bring out the big guns because my skin was looking really rough. I pulled out my May Lindstrom the Problem Solver, mixed that bad boy up with some water, and lathered the mixture onto my face. I let that sit for about 10 minutes and I could really feel the tingling. I washed that off and my skin really did thank me by being extra smooth and somehow less heavy. The May Lindstrom comes in this giant jar that retails at exactly $100. It comes with enough powder to last years. Honestly, they could make the jar much smaller and retail it at $50 and an even smaller one at $25. Why is this jar so big?

I also started using Sunday Riley’s facial oils and my face LOVES them so much. My mom let me siphon some of hers so that I didn’t have to spend an arm and a leg on my own. My favorite one so far is the Juno because it really does give your skin a nice glow when it’s dull looking. I like to use the Juno along with the Luna to create a power couple for my skin. The Luna makes my pores appear smaller and the Juno makes my skin glow…what a match right? Of course, after my masks treatment, I put the Juno as the bottom layer, a cream moisturizer, and then finally the Luna as the top layer. The Luna oil contains retinol which can be harsh, so I like a nice thin buffer before adding it on.

I woke up this morning with a nice clean canvas. I like to save this routine (mainly the May Lindstrom) for when I am in serious need of a deep pore cleansing treatment. I wasn’t too aware that traveling could really do a number on your skin. Seriously…do the mask when you first arrive at your hotel or else your skin will rebel!

Thanks for reading, catch you all on Friday.
